It is important for human beings to learn to have genuinely reciprocal relationships. The wise and learned must pass on their light, and the ignorant must receive it and rejoice in it. The rich must visit the poor and be happy that they are able to do some good; the poor should feel helped and encouraged. Such sincere, brotherly reciprocity is a source of great happiness. But those whose granaries and coffers are full and who refuse to put their wealth into circulation become like swamps: they maintain a state of inner stagnation.
