Obstacles - rough edges that enable us to climb towards the light You want life to be smooth and pleasant, without problems or unhappiness. But why don’t you ask yourself about the underlying meaning of the obstacles that exist in nature and in life instead? If the path up a high mountain were smooth, you would never be able to climb to the top in order to breathe the pure air and admire the beautiful view, because you would have nothing to cling to. You would keep sliding down to the bottom of the precipice. This is what happens to those whose life is too easy, too comfortable: they lose their grip on life – as well as on their fortune, their health, even their sanity. Since you are climbing up the slopes of a spiritual mountain, do not ask that they be smooth. Be grateful for the rough edges, for it is they that give you a handhold and enable you to keep advancing towards the light. A leading 20th-century teacher of Western Esotericism in Europe, he was a disciple of Peter Deunov, the founder of the Universal White Brotherhood.

Note:  I wrote this poem in the haiku style of poetry a few days ago and published it for the first time,  the 22nd of June, 2024.  Contrary to the party line,  we are not smarter or living longer but quite the opposite.  A few remain with some physical and emotional strength plus some clarity of mind and will and these few will be the ones to rebuild community in the future.

Purity Of Being - A Quotation by Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov

Purity - to become more lucid, healthier and joyful

If you work seriously and in depth to purify yourself, light will flow into you more and more readily, and you will begin to see things more clearly and with greater lucidity. The sickly particles in your body will be eliminated and your physical health will begin to improve; those that hamper your willpower will also be driven out and you will become stronger. All that is dark and shadowy will leave you, and if you were sad, you will find yourself filled with joy. For joy is simply an aspect of purity: the more you purify yourself, the more light-hearted, gay and joyful you will feel.

And just as impurity leads to fermentation, putrefaction, disintegration and death, the exact opposite happens when you purify yourself: you draw closer to immortality. So, health, power, knowledge, happiness and immortality are simply different aspects of purity. This, in short, is the whole of Initiatic Science; it is now up to you to verify it.
