Within Our Dualistic World - A Poem by M.N. Hopkins

Within our dualistic world of Man

Light is dark

And

Dark is light

Both of the same Source

The Source that is 

The Essence of all that lives

Which that one attracts

Depends upon one's focal point

Both compliment

And interact

With one another

In the eternal game

Of balance

Those who achieve

Or 

Acquire

This balance

Are those who are

Masters of both

Light and dark

Both are tools that are necessary

For

Living a human life

When one take precedence

Over the other

Then

An imbalance occurs 

Within the human being

With the only remedy

Is

To accept both

Yet

Not to be dominated by either

In a sense

One becomes

Master of oneself

When one becomes

The master of dark and light

So

Fear neither

And

Be in both

And

Not of both

For

We are neither

Yet

Can use both

To color our lives

While in human form

This will lead to balance

And

A calm and confidence

Disposition

Within our dualistic World of Man
