Cherish your father
He will grow old and be gone
Enjoy his presence

Note: This poem was inspired last week after a call from my brother saying that Dad was in Hospice and unconscious. He suffered a sudden acute condition that needed an operation but at 97 years of age, Doctors decided not to perform it which makes perfect sense to me. At that age he would not survive the operation itself. Dad's body is still holding on though he is not expected to last much longer. I decided to publish it in the haiku form of poetry today, the 7th of January, 2020.
