Social status, diplomas, bank account, house, clothes, jewelry… These are what people focus on most in order to impress others. This is an extremely superficial attitude and obviously not one to be recommended, and yet it is a reflection of what takes place in the spiritual realm. There, those who are richer, more beautiful, nobler and stronger than others in the domain of virtues earn the attention and care of heaven.
But humans have forgotten this notion of nobility and spiritual wealth. They have maintained criteria that are exclusively material, unaware that the forms in the world below reflect those in the world on high. By attaching themselves to physical appearances alone, they have forgotten that all wealth, beauty, grandeur and power of a material nature are pale reflections of an infinitely superior world which they must strive to attain.Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov was a Bulgarian philosopher, pedagogue, mystic, and esotericist. A leading 20th-century teacher of Western Esotericism in Europe, he was a disciple of Peter Deunov, the founder of the Universal White Brotherhood.
