When the sick man begged to be healed, Jesus asked: ‘Do you have faith?’ Why this question? Because faith opens a door to spiritual forces. Anything you undertake on your own, solely by your own capacity and will, obeys a natural mechanism and is subject to the law of cause and effect. Whereas the moment you bring faith to bear, you open a door to the powers of heaven. These celestial forces penetrate you; they restore, purify and heal you, even when you do not fully deserve it. We can therefore say that faith compels grace; it opens a door through which grace has no choice but to enter, provided, of course, that you have invited it, like the sick man who asked Jesus to heal him.
