Many have died
Many more will die
We will remember
The ones who we loved
And
The ones who loved us
Our Strength
Our Resilience
Our Fortitude
Will see us through these dark times
And
Those who were deceived and betrayed
Will be inspired to end this madness
And
Find their own Strength
Their own Resilience
Their own Fortitude
Our inheritance from countless generations
Who came before
And
Join us in a calm, confident manner
That will shake and rattle
The powers that should not be
And
Reason and love and faith
Will be restored
In ourselves
In our communities
In our world
And
One day in the future
Our descendants will smile upon our memory
With
Thanksgiving and gratitude
For our Sacrifice
For our Strength
For our Fortitude
For our faith restored in ourselves
And
In one another
And
For turning the tide
By
Revealing the great deceptions
That were intended to imprison
And
To enslave Mankind
Instead
We built a foundation
For a future world
In which our descendants
Will live in a world in which
They will live together
With respect
And
In freedom

Note: I wrote this poem a few weeks ago in the free verse style of poetry and placed the paper in a file cabinet. I later came across it while looking for another item and after reading it again, I decided to publish it on my blog for the first time today, the 1st of January, 2023.
