Indian Government Files Biopiracy Lawsuit Against Monsanto

Representing one of the most agriculturally bio-diverse nations in the world, India has become a primary target for biotechnology companies like Monsanto and Cargill to spread their genetically-modified (GM) crops into new markets. However, a recent France 24 report explains that the Indian government has decided to take an offensive approach against this attempted agricultural takeover by suing Monsanto for "biopiracy," accusing the company of stealing India's indigenous plants in order to re-engineer them into patented varieties.

Brinjal, also known in Western nations as eggplant, is a native Indian crop for which there are roughly 2,500 different unique varieties. Millions of Indian farmers grow brinjal, which is used in a variety of Indian food dishes, and the country grows more than a quarter of the world's overall supply of the vegetable.

The Elite Plan For A New World Social Order

When the Industrial Revolution began in Britain, in the late 1700s, there was lots of money to be made by investing in factories and mills, by opening up new markets, and by gaining control of sources of raw materials. The folks who had the most money to invest, however, were not so much in Britain but more in Holland. Holland had been the leading Western power in the 1600s, and its bankers were the leading capitalists. In pursuit of profit, Dutch capital flowed to the British stock market, and thus the Dutch funded the rise of Britain, who subsequently eclipsed Holland both economically and geopolitically.

In this way British industrialism came to be dominated by wealthy investors, and capitalism became the dominant economic system. This led to a major social transformation. Britain had been essentially an aristocratic society, dominated by landholding families. As capitalism became dominant economically, capitalists became dominant politically. Tax structures and import-export policies were gradually changed to favour investors over landowners.

It was no longer economically viable to simply maintain an estate in the countryside: one needed to develop it, turn it to more productive use. Victorian dramas are filled with stories of aristocratic families who fall on hard times, and are forced to sell off their properties. For dramatic purposes, this decline is typically attributed to a failure in some character, a weak eldest son perhaps. But in fact the decline of aristocracy was part of a larger social transformation brought on by the rise of capitalism.

The business of the capitalist is the management of capital, and this management is generally handled through the mediation of banks and brokerage houses. It should not be surprising that investment bankers came to occupy the top of the hierarchy of capitalist wealth and power. And in fact, there are a handful of banking families, including the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers, who have come to dominate economic and political affairs in the Western world.

Unlike aristocrats, capitalists are not tied to a place, or to the maintenance of a place. Capital is disloyal and mobile – it flows to where the most growth can be found, as it flowed from Holland to Britain, then from Britain to the USA, and most recently from everywhere to China. Just as a copper mine might be exploited and then abandoned, so under capitalism a whole nation can be exploited and then abandoned, as we see in the rusting industrial areas of America and Britain.

This detachment from place leads to a different kind of geopolitics under capitalism, as compared to aristocracy. A king goes to war when he sees an advantage to his nation in doing so. Historians can ‘explain’ the wars of pre-capitalist days, in terms of the aggrandisement of monarchs and nations.

A capitalist stirs up a war in order to make profits, and in fact our elite banking families have financed both sides of most military conflicts since at least World War 1. Hence historians have a hard time ‘explaining’ World War 1 in terms of national motivations and objectives.

In pre-capitalist days warfare was like chess, each side trying to win. Under capitalism warfare is more like a casino, where the players battle it out as long as they can get credit for more chips, and the real winner always turns out to be the house – the bankers who finance the war and decide who will be the last man standing. Not only are wars the most profitable of all capitalist ventures, but by choosing the winners, and managing the reconstruction, the elite banking families are able, over time, to tune the geopolitical configuration to suit their own interests.

Nations and populations are but pawns in their games. Millions die in wars, infrastructures are destroyed, and while the world mourns, the bankers are counting their winnings and making plans for their postwar reconstruction investments.

From their position of power, as the financiers of governments, the banking elite have over time perfected their methods of control. Staying always behind the scenes, they pull the strings controlling the media, the political parties, the intelligence agencies, the stock markets, and the offices of government. And perhaps their greatest lever of power is their control over currencies. By means of their central-bank scam, they engineer boom and bust cycles, and they print money from nothing and then loan it at interest to governments. The power of the elite banking gang (the ‘banksters’) is both absolute and subtle...

We address this European issue, because soon it will debut in the US. The comprehensive policy response, which we have been told existed, really doesn’t exist. We found that out last Friday. All the lies of the past two weeks by various European governments and bureaucrats, as well as Mr. Sarkozy and Mrs. Merkel, were just more delaying tactics to attempt to find a solution to Europe’s financial dilemma. As part of this display of smoke and mirrors, these hopeful signs, generated large gains in US and European stock markets, of course, with the assistance of the “President’s Working Group on Financial Markets.” At the same time as usual gold, silver and commodities markets were attacked viciously. This is how markets and economies are manipulated when in control of our corporatist fascist government.

 

Following the lead of the Federal Reserve two weeks ago both the Bank of England and the European Central Bank added more wood to the fire by expanding their issuance of money and credit. As we have previously pointed out the system cannot function without perpetual quantitative easing or stimulus. That is because no attempt has been made to solve the problems of the economy and unemployment. In the US, UK and Europe only the financial sectors and governments have been recapitalized. That is ongoing. This is the solution offered by the Fed and all others should follow such dictates. Policymakers may be energized with three conferences on tap, but that means little. Germany is the key, the German people, and they are not budging. They have had it. Being forced for 66 years to do as they have been told. That era of allied hegemony is over. While they are at it they should remove foreign troops from their soil.

Central banks are accommodators to keep their system going, because if the elitists lose control of the financial systems they lose their power and wealth. That in part is why no effort has been made to restore economies. These extraordinary measures have for the moment kept US, UK and European economies from falling off a cliff, but that game cannot be played indefinitely. One of the factors not mentioned and shunted aside is the penalty of inflation from unbridled monetary excesses. In the US we see 11.6%, in England 12.5% and in Europe 7%. What professionals do not want to recognize is that economies and the financial structure are fighting a losing battle.

Markets have discounted a perfect recovery for Europe and that is not going to happen. If they work it out it will take years to reach normality. If they purge the system it will take five years, which will produce great pain and deprive the bankers, Wall Street and the City of London of their power.

There is much truth in this video. I would only make one correction and that would be to allow your heart to dance you into a new way of living. The more that join in the hearts dance of joy, the weaker will become those of dark determination who manipulate our communities for their own selfish purposes.

Slavery is self imposed in my view and one just must decide for oneself what price that one is willing to pay for one's freedom. One day, a better way is shown us all and it's up to us in our human communities to decide the direction that we will take jointly.

Health - We are Asleep at the Wheel

I am going to start by sharing part of a recent e-mail letter I sent to a cyber friend in the US who has just had to face the loss of her mother, and two friends from cancer, and also a husband contracting dementia.

“ From your earlier sharing relating to the health/medical challenges you have been faced with by those family members and friends close to you who are suffering or have died is a clear indication and illustration of just how ‘off base' in particular, our North American culture is to what causes our endemic cancers and other illnesses – like dementia – that are plaguing us. The evidence is there in front of us from just this one e-mail you have shared over the illnesses within your OWN family and friends and should be a clear indication to us all that something is very wrong.

In my opinion we are asleep at the wheel as the illnesses that plague us have become ‘acceptable' that this is the way it is. NOT SO! We have allowed our insidious acceptance of certain elements into our daily lives which are the causes of so much of our health problems – and for the most part preventable. The problem being we are asleep - all of us - at the proverbial wheel!”

Now bear with me and let me present to you in this column a few of the prime factors fostering and evolving this saddening state within our North American culture in particular but by no means not only here:-

1 - Vaccination

This is at the top of my ‘List' and I know VERY controversial. Here goes!

We have all been brain washed most of our lives over this need to be vaccinated every time something like the current H1N1 [Swine Flu] “crises” comes up. I'm sure you've all heard the comments coming from the media about the preparations being made to make sure there is a vaccine available by the Fall to get us all vaccinated.

Why is it we so often give our power away to these unnatural ways we are told will ‘protect' us from all the germs and bugs that are swarming all around us? At least that is the way it is so constantly presented to us by Health Canada , the Medical institutions, et al. [Oh, and by the way have you remembered to wash your hands after eating at that restaurant?] Come on! This is all so fear based to be on the verge of hysterical! Yet watching the TV news it is as if our very lives dependent on it. A little bit of dirt never does us any harm. Indeed, it actually stimulates our immune system and keeps it strong.

Has Nature got it wrong? If we follow basic common sense rules as we go through life all these very unnatural ‘protections' by way of vaccinations which are, in essence, injecting our bodies with, for the most part, elements of the very disease we are trying to be ‘protected' from. Does any of this make sense to you at all? ! Indeed where is the common sense in all of this?

As I have mentioned in earlier articles I have had two vaccinations in my life and nearly died from each.
First was the usual small pox when I was 6 and immediately got both cerebral AND spinal meningitis, either of which can be and is, usually fatal. I survived.

The Second was when I was posted to Pakistan when I was 27 and my employer's doctor insisted – despite the fact I had a letter from a Harley Street doctor who disagreed with vaccination to say I was an “Allergic subject” – I had to have the typhoid shot or lose my job. Six weeks later in Karachi I went down with – you guessed it – typhoid, and almost died - again!

Vaccination is one of the biggest evils ever perpetrated on Humanity. One of the reasons we are now so seemingly vulnerable to disease in some form is simply BECAUSE of all the vaccinations we have all been receiving over several generations which have resulted in our respective immune systems becoming increasingly weakened generation after generation. This has made those of us now living ever more vulnerable to anything that comes along whether it is a cold or something more serious. I honestly do accept that most doctors, however well meaning, including nurses and others who work within these professions, believe in this holy cow. We've all been brain washed through the conditioning we've all been subjected to from birth.

It's time to wake up! In most cases more people die from the vaccination itself than actually die from the disease we are being “protected” from. Hard to confirm because most deaths from vaccination are often recorded as “A bad batch” or similar. They did that with me and that was what my parents were told. That was in 1942.

I am aware of the argument put forward that vaccination has stopped a particular disease when introduced into an existing situation but the truth is that it is often obscured through bias and /or the fact that diseases are usually cyclic and by the time a vaccine has been introduced the disease has already begun to subside.

2 – Meat

We eat far too much meat – indeed, as I've said before North Americans are the biggest meat eaters in the world. The appalling conditions these animals are now raised in with so much injection of drugs to keep them ‘healthy' should be a cause for concern. You see we then absorb these drugs into our own systems. Over time there is an accumulation of this which ultimately creates basic health problems. [As most know I'm a “Veggie” since 18 – now a healthy 74.]

3 – Prescription Drugs

The extreme and dangerous over reliance and prescripting of drugs which, frankly, is abhorrent! This is a careless and costly “marketing” of lives in so many instances, by the Drug companies. I make no bones about it – the behavior of many Western [Allopathic] doctors and their increasing reliance on these drugs is, frankly, appalling. This ties in with the Drug Cartels and their influence within the World Health Organization [WHO] which under the name of CODEX is attempting to make herbal medicines available only through a Western doctor's prescription. This ties in with the vaccine issue above.

4 - Fluoridation and Chlorination of our drinking water

Iindeed too much tampering altogether. I only drink water I draw from our creeks which is untampered with in anyway – that includes many bottled water ‘products' as it is so purified that all the nutritional elements in natural water we need are consequently removed along with the bad stuff! Water is not just for quenching thirst!

5 – Lack of organic foods in our daily diet

Way too many“Fast” foods and other non-organic foods resulting over time with our cells being starved for the lack of needed nutrition to keep our cells healthy and alive. Very cancer causing in my opinion.

6 – Living on a constant competitive edge within our daily social environment

Work place, sports, our daily inter-action with people. So much of our daily life has an overt but also a subtle competitive edge to it within our daily interactions, thus creating tensions which, over time, undermines our health.

Along with this let me emphasize how important it is to maintain a positive frame of mind and avoid negative and angry thinking and feelings. Often not easy in to-day's world but if and when something up-sets you try and be aware of the rising anger within you and transmute it into more of an observation without the accompanying negative emotion that goes along with it.

7 – Lack of silence

The constant noise encountered particularly within urban living creates subtle tensions which over time is damaging. One of my pet peeves, as many restaurateurs are well aware of in Whitehorse , is the constant back-ground so called “music” volumed up to the point where to have a conversation you have to raise your voice. If, in a lounge and other similar places, I accept it I guess if it's a bit loud – but not in the main eating areas and generally softer music – especially in the mornings at breakfast!

8 – Exercise

Some form of daily outdoor exercise if only to leave the car at home and walk to the store – or, as I do, even when I was working, I almost always go for a quiet walk for an hour or so in a peaceful location where I can hear the gentle wind and other life forms we share this world with. They don't mind – honest! J However, I also see quite a few over-exercising especially in-doors. To much stressing yourself can be counter productive especially if you do not also follow some of these other elements I have tried to draw your attention to..

9 – Finally

The absence of the Natural world in the lives of so many. The way urban areas have been allowed to evolve so often, and shutting out Nature almost completely. This is not good.
For this column this will do! I am sure much of what I've shared is not unrecognized by most of you but also may be a cause for more reflection. I do not wish to come across as a know-it-all and if you do not agree with some of my observations put it aside for now and/or let me hear from you. I am always open and can learn from the experiences of others. No person is an island. J Take care all of you.

American citizens retain Ninth Amendment "civil-right" protection to consume the foods of their choice. This right includes, but is not limited to, using plants and foods as their own medicines.

The Ninth Amendment protects their right to produce and consume dairy products, including milk from cows, "raw milk and cheese" and also milk from goats.

The rights of the American people are protected by the United States Constitution while they possess and consume herbs,use healing therapies as well as holistic and traditional therapies, that they themselves (the American people) consider to be beneficial to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

These rights are "unalienable" meaning that they can never be taken away from the people by the government. The Constitution is a document that simply states that our rights already exist, these rights "have" existed long before the establishment of our current government.

Our rights do not come from the hand of our government, they come from our higher power, whereas the number one function of the government is to protect and uphold our self-evident "unalienable" civil-rights.

When the government attempts to establish itself as the higher power, the American people must peacefully place "their" government back into it's proper role. The government must at all times operate in respect to "natural rights", meaning that the government and it's officials are not the "provider" of our liberties.

It is the job and "individual duty" of every law enforcement official who has taken an "oath" to protect and defend the constitution, to refuse to enforce unlawful orders. This is especially true for the "county sheriff" who is elected specifically for the purpose of protecting the rights of the citizenry.

As sheriff, I will stand with the American people when their Ninth Amendment right to consume the foods of their choice is unlawfully threatened.

I call on all "constitutional sheriff's" and "constitutional sheriff" candidates across the nation to join with me in what is possibly the time of America's greatest need.

Let it be said, that if governmental officials come to the homes of our citizens, their farms or their places of business, specifically to violate their "unalienable" civil-rights. That those officials will not be us.

American citizens who refuse to comply with governmental orders to cease eating or producing the foods of their choice are not rebels or lawbreakers; the lawbreakers and rebels are the governmental officials who unlawfully take from them their constitutionally protected "civil-liberties".

As Americans, our liberty has always been our heritage.

CNN reports today:

An extraordinarily high level of radiation was detected in one spot in a central Tokyo residential district Thursday, prompting the local government to cordon off the small area, local officials said.

Radiation levels were higher in Tokyo’s Setagaya ward than in the evacuation area around the badly damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, according to ward Mayor Nobuto Hosaka.

“We are shocked to see such high radiation level was detected in our neighborhood. We cannot leave it as is,” Hosaka told reporters.

But the tsunami-struck Fukushima plant may not be the source of the radiation, Hosaka said later on state television.

Officials searching for the cause found “glass bottles in a cardboard box” in the basement of a house in the neighborhood which sent radiation detectors off the charts, he said on NHK.

“We suspect these bottles in basement could be the cause of the high radiation reading and we are hastily working to confirm it,” he said.

Radiation experts are now checking what contaminated the bottles, a Setagaya ward official told CNN, declining to be named in line with policy.

Perhaps it is just some random contaminated bottles.

But as the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday:

Japanese researchers discovered high levels of radioactive material in concentrated areas in Tokyo and Yokohama, more than 241 kilometers away from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, as increasingly thorough tests provide a clearer picture of just how far contamination has spread and accumulated ….

In Tokyo, a sidewalk in Setagaya ward, in the western part of the city, recorded radiation levels of 2.707 microsieverts per hour, about 50 times higher than another location in Setagaya where the ward regularly monitors radiation levels….

In Yokohama, the local government said last month that it detected 40,200 becquerels of radioactive cesium per kilogram of sediments collected from one part of a roadside ditch….

Yokohama is investigating another spot on an apartment rooftop where tests conducted by a local private research institute detected more than 60,000 becquerels of radioactive cesium per a kilogram of sediments.

The Journal also notes that these radioactive hotspots were not found through routine tests, but only because some residents walked around with geiger counters:

Both Setagaya Ward and Yokohama discovered those concentrated spots after residents carrying their radiation measuring devices noticed such spots and reported it to local officials.

The president's jobs bill doesn't have a chance in Congress - and the occupiers on Wall Street and elsewhere can't become a national movement for a more equitable society - unless more Americans know the truth about the economy.

Here's a short (2 minute 30 second) effort to rebut the seven biggest whoppers now being told by those who want to take America backwards.

The major points:

1. Tax cuts for the rich trickle down to everyone else. Baloney. Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush both sliced taxes on the rich and what happened? Most Americans' wages (measured by the real median wage) began flattening under Reagan and has dropped since George W. Bush. Trickle-down economics is a cruel joke.


2. Higher taxes on the rich would hurt the economy and slow job growth. False. From the end of World War II until 1981, the richest Americans faced a top marginal tax rate of 70 percent or above. Under Dwight Eisenhower it was 91 percent. Even after all deductions and credits, the top taxes on the very rich were far higher than they've been since. Yet the economy grew faster during those years than it has since. (Don't believe small businesses would be hurt by a higher marginal tax; fewer than 2 percent of small business owners are in the highest tax bracket.)


3. Shrinking government generates more jobs. Wrong again. It means fewer government workers - everyone from teachers, fire fighters, police officers, and social workers at the state and local levels to safety inspectors and military personnel at the federal. And fewer government contractors, who would employ fewer private-sector workers. According to Moody's economist Mark Zandi (a campaign advisor to John McCain), the $61 billion in spending cuts proposed by the House GOP will cost the economy 700,000 jobs this year and next.


4. Cutting the budget deficit now is more important than boosting the economy. Untrue. With so many Americans out of work, budget cuts now will shrink the economy. They'll increase unemployment and reduce tax revenues. That will worsen the ratio of the debt to the total economy. The first priority must be getting jobs and growth back by boosting the economy. Only then, when jobs and growth are returning vigorously, should we turn to cutting the deficit.


5. Medicare and Medicaid are the major drivers of budget deficits. Wrong. Medicare and Medicaid spending is rising quickly, to be sure. But that's because the nation's health-care costs are rising so fast. One of the best ways of slowing these costs is to use Medicare and Medicaid's bargaining power over drug companies and hospitals to reduce costs, and to move from a fee-for-service system to a fee-for-healthy outcomes system. And since Medicare has far lower administrative costs than private health insurers, we should make Medicare available to everyone.

6. Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. Don't believe it. Social Security is solvent for the next 26 years. It could be solvent for the next century if we raised the ceiling on income subject to the Social Security payroll tax. That ceiling is now $106,800.


7. It's unfair that lower-income Americans don't pay income tax. Wrong. There's nothing unfair about it. Lower-income Americans pay out a larger share of their paychecks in payroll taxes, sales taxes, user fees, and tolls than everyone else.

Demagogues through history have known that big lies, repeated often enough, start being believed - unless they're rebutted. These seven economic whoppers are just plain wrong. Make sure you know the truth - and spread it on.

Never before has it been so important to have independent, honest voices and sources of information. We are – as a society – inundated and overwhelmed with a flood of information from a wide array of sources, but these sources of information, by and large, serve the powerful interests and individuals that own them. The main sources of information, for both public and official consumption, include the mainstream media, alternative media, academia and think tanks.

The mainstream media is the most obvious in its inherent bias and manipulation. The mainstream media is owned directly by large multinational corporations, and through their boards of directors are connected with a plethora of other major global corporations and elite interests. An example of these connections can be seen through the board of Time Warner.

Time Warner owns Time Magazine, HBO, Warner Bros., and CNN, among many others. The board of directors includes individuals past or presently affiliated with: the Council on Foreign Relations, the IMF, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Warburg Pincus, Phillip Morris, and AMR Corporation, among many others.

Two of the most “esteemed” sources of news in the U.S. are the New York Times (referred to as “the paper of record”) and the Washington Post. The New York Times has on its board people who are past or presently affiliated with: Schering-Plough International (pharmaceuticals), the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Chevron Corporation, Wesco Financial Corporation, Kohlberg & Company, The Charles Schwab Corporation, eBay Inc., Xerox, IBM, Ford Motor Company, Eli Lilly & Company, among others. Hardly a bastion of impartiality.

And the same could be said for the Washington Post, which has on its board: Lee Bollinger, the President of Columbia University and Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Warren Buffett, billionaire financial investor, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway; and individuals associated with (past or presently): the Coca-Cola Company, New York University, Conservation International, the Council on Foreign Relations, Xerox, Catalyst, Johnson & Johnson, Target Corporation, RAND Corporation, General Motors, and the Business Council, among others.

It is also important to address how the mainstream media is intertwined, often covertly and secretly, with the government. Carl Bernstein, one of the two Washington Post reporters who covered the Watergate scandal, revealed that there were over 400 American journalists who had “secretly carried out assignments for the Central Intelligence Agency.” Interestingly, “the use of journalists has been among the most productive means of intelligence-gathering employed by the CIA.” Among organizations which cooperated with the CIA were the "American Broadcasting Company, the National Broadcasting Company, the Associated Press, United Press International, Reuters, Hearst Newspapers, Scripps-Howard, Newsweek magazine, the Mutual Broadcasting System, the Miami Herald and the old Saturday Evening Post and New York Herald-Tribune." 

By far the most valuable of these associations, according to CIA officials, have been with the New York Times, CBS and Time Inc. The CIA even ran a training program “to teach its agents to be journalists,” who were “then placed in major news organizations with help from management.” 

These types of relationships have continued in the decades since, although perhaps more covertly and quietly than before. For example, it was revealed in 2000 that during the NATO bombing of Kosovo, “several officers from the US Army's 4th Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) Group at Ft. Bragg worked in the news division at CNN's Atlanta headquarters.” This same Army Psyop outfit had “planted stories in the U.S. media supporting the Reagan Administration's Central America policies,” which was described by the Miami Herald as a “vast psychological warfare operation of the kind the military conducts to influence a population in enemy territory.” These Army PSYOP officers also worked at National Public Radio (NPR) at the same time. The US military has, in fact, had a strong relationship with CNN.

In 2008, it was reported that the Pentagon ran a major propaganda campaign by using retired Generals and former Pentagon officials to present a good picture of the administration’s war-time policies. The program started in the lead-up to the Iraq War in 2003 and continued into 2009. These officials, presented as “military analysts”, regurgitate government talking points and often sit on the boards of military contractors, thus having a vested interest in the subjects they are brought on to “analyze.”

The major philanthropic foundations in the United States have often used their enormous wealth to co-opt voices of dissent and movements of resistance into channels that are safe for the powers that be. As McGeorge Bundy, former President of the Ford Foundation once said, “Everything the Foundation does is to make the world safe for Capitalism.” 

Examples of this include philanthropies like the Rockefeller Foundation, Ford Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation providing immense financial and organizational support to Non-Governmental Organizations. Furthermore, the alternative media are often funded by these same foundations, which has the effect of influencing the direction of coverage as well as the stifling of critical analysis.

The High Court in London will soon to decide whether Julian Assange is to be extradited to Sweden to face allegations of sexual misconduct. At the appeal hearing in July, Ben Emmerson QC, counsel for the defence, described the whole saga as “crazy”. Sweden’s chief prosecutor had dismissed the original arrest warrant, saying there was no case for Assange to answer. Both the women involved said they had consented to have sex. On the facts alleged, no crime would have been committed in Britain.

 

However, it is not the Swedish judicial system that presents a “grave danger” to Assange, say his lawyers, but a legal device known as a Temporary Surrender, under which he can be sent on from Sweden to the United States secretly and quickly. The founder and editor of WikiLeaks, who published the greatest leak of official documents in history, providing a unique insight into rapacious wars and the lies told by governments, is likely to find himself in a hell hole not dissimilar to the “torturous” dungeon that held Private Bradley Manning, the alleged whistleblower. Manning has not been tried, let alone convicted, yet on 21 April, President Barack Obama declared him guilty with a dismissive “He broke the law”.

This Kafka-style justice awaits Assange whether or not Sweden decides to prosecute him. Last December, the Independent disclosed that the US and Sweden had already started talks on Assange’s extradition. At the same time, a secret grand jury – a relic of the 18th century long abandoned in this country -- has convened just across the river from Washington, in a corner of Virginia that is home to the CIA and most of America’s national security establishment. The grand jury is a “fix”, a leading legal expert told me: reminiscent of the all-white juries in the South that convicted blacks by rote. A sealed indictment is believed to exist. 

 

Under the US Constitution, which guarantees free speech, Assange should be protected, in theory. When he was running for president, Obama, himself a constitutional lawyer, said, “Whistleblowers are part of a healthy democracy and must be protected from reprisal”. His embrace of George W. Bush’s “war on terror” has changed all that. Obama has pursued more whistleblowers than any US president. The problem for his administration in “getting” Assange and crushing WikiLeaks is that military investigators have found no collusion or contact between him and Manning, reports NBC. There is no crime, so one has to be concocted, probably in line with Vice President Joe Biden’s absurd description of Assange as a “hi-tech terrorist”.
 
Should Assange win his High Court appeal in London, he could face extradition direct to the United States. In the past, US officials have synchronised extradition warrants with the conclusion of a pending case. Like its predatory military, American jurisdiction recognises few boundaries. As the suffering of Bradley Manning demonstrates, together with the recently executed Troy Davis and the forgotten inmates of Guantanamo, much of the US criminal justice system is corrupt if not lawless.

 

In a letter addressed to the Australian government, Britain’s most distinguished human rights lawyer, Gareth Peirce, who now acts for Assange, wrote, “Given the extent of the public discussion, frequently on the basis of entirely false assumptions... it is very hard to attempt to preserve for him any presumption of innocence. Mr. Assange has now hanging over him not one but two Damocles swords, of potential extradition to two different jurisdictions in turn for two different alleged crimes, neither of which are crimes in his own country, and that his personal safety has become at risk in circumstances that are highly politically charged.”

Fukushima’s nuclear disaster is a nightmare. Ghostly releases of radioactivity haunt the Japanese countryside. Lives, once safe, are now beset by an ineffable scourge promising vile illness and death. 

Large sectors of the population are accumulating significant levels of internal contamination, setting the stage for a public health tragedy. 

A subtle increase in the number of miscarriages and fetal deaths will be the first manifestation that something is amiss. An elevated incidence of birth defects will begin in the Fall and continue into the indefinite future. Thyroid diseases, cardiac diseases and elevated rates of infant and childhood leukemia will follow. Over the next decade and beyond, cancer rates will soar.

Chernobyl was the harbinger of this heartbreaking scenario. It taught mankind the inescapable biological truths that emerge within populations internally contaminated by heightened levels of fission products. And yet, government and industry schemers attack these truths as unfounded scare-mongering. With cold indifference, they deny that Chernobyl was a mass casualty event. They turn a blind eye to a huge body of research and deviously proclaim that no evidence exists that more than a handful of people suffered harm from the Ukrainian disaster. They publish propaganda, draped in the guise of science, that dismisses the hazard of low levels of internal contamination. Believing their subterfuge to have been successful and intoxicated by their hubris, they are already positioning themselves to stage-manage the public’s perception of Fukushima. 

Japan’s government, its Nuclear Safety Commission, and the Tokyo Electric  Power Company have already demonstrated that they will do everything in their power to keep citizens ignorant of what is taking place. The emerging health crisis is scheduled to be erased. Following a time-tested blueprint worked out by prior radiation releases around the world, data relevant to assessing the medical impact of the accident will not be gathered. Radiation doses to the population will be woefully underestimated. The hazards associated with low levels of internal contamination will be obliterated from all discussions of risk. Academic journals that support the nuclear agenda will be flooded with bogus studies demonstrating that no health detriment was suffered by the population. The heightened incidence of childhood leukemia will be attributed to some as yet unidentified virus unleashed by population mixing following the evacuations caused by the tsunami. (This theory is currently in vogue to deny that the heightened incidence of leukemia among children under five years of age living nearby to nuclear reactors is radiation induced.)  The birth defects will be summarily dismissed as impossible because the risk models upheld by the International Commission on Radiological Protection don’t predict them. The possibility that the models are fraudulently constructed escapes consideration. A Message To Those Who Represent We The 99 % Of Humanity

I have been thinking about New York, Chicago and LA and those who stand for us in this movement to take back our Land from the hands of the Plutocractic.  The media blackout was lifted on Saturday in the UK and Sweden.  I figured that this would happen soon.  Now the controlled medias will make their own spin to darken and discredit those who have risen above their fear to take back their Land.  It is also more than this, in a sense they have united with other lovers of freedom in many Lands.

I have written a tribute to all those who now stand against tyranny and attempt to relight the flame of liberty for their fellows.  I have no way to support them but through the written word and by helping to spread the word of what they are doing from their points of view.

Now, I will convey my point of view on what this occupy Wall Street, Chicago and Los Angeles movements means to me.  So here goes:

A Tribute To Those Who Stand For Us


A time of change is soon upon not just you but many, many others.  The old ways are no more.   Now is a time of a great transformation of financial markets and the ways of commerse.

No longer will a few control the many.  For now is the time of co-operation and consensus upon us.

Now, many assemble in the great financial centers.  New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.  Seats of once mighty financial entities, now overcome and defeated by represntatives of the 99 % of humanity.

These way seers and way showers and way doers now gather before the upcoming storm.  Mothers shall weep and fathers shall cry at the injustices done to their own and will arise from their fear and inaction and demand a change of leadership.  True leaders, those of love, those of courage, those who know the way toward a future in which honest attempts are made to solve the problems of community.  The theft of pensions, the theft of our social services, the theft of our medias.  All will come to an end.

Consensus shall show it's head and the head of the snake will no longer direct, since it's body will be cut off.  Those who have signed up to this mass disordering of human community and betrayed not only others, but have betrayed what is best within themselves will lead no more.

No longer will the weak and the corruptable rule.  Now, comes a changing of the guard.  Now, come those of responsibility and compassion.  Now, come the true leaders to take their rightful place amongst their fellows.

The call has gone out and many have answered.  They come together not as victims, but as leaders.  Leaders leading the way back to their roots that were forged in the fiires of a democractic dream.  A dream of Man and Woman working together for the betterment of all within human community.

Now, the bell of liberty rings again but not from a cold metal object, but it rings loud and true with the strength of the human heart.

The young and old unite for a common cause of the re-establishment of the common good.

Yes, Good that will one day be so common amongst Mankind that future generations will wonder how Mankind could have ever allowed itself to fall into such a state of disalignment and disrepair.

Future generations will know directly what is of the Good and live their lives in accordance with not just what is best for their individual expression of their humanity, but what is best for their everyday living in human community.

We salute you all this day and wish to tell you that yes indeed you succeeded with your plans and brought about whole new systems of commerse that were created out of what is best within your humanities.

God's speed and stay the course.  For those of greatness and wisdom from your past and your future have joined together with you in these days and helped direct you back to the path that you left so many countless centuries ago.

They come from the north, the south, the east and the west and join together in a common goal of re-establishing the common good within human communities.  They will come together as one, yet keep their individuality.  United by a common dream, one determined by the human heart.

It is freedom you have sought and it is freedom that has again found you sleeping and rang the bell of liberty.

Fear not.  There is no force that can deter you now from the culmination of your collective dream of freedom.
