Humanity is

That which binds you to the Earth

Then to the Divine

Great poem!
I think it is very true. And I think to have a balanced connection to the divine one has to be connected to the earth, because being connected to the earth there comes a calmness and a stableness that makes things much clearer to perceive a divine connection. I think there is a common thing amongst very "sensitive" people to seek for there place of safety someone outisde themselves in a realm far away. I have my portions of it and I see it quite often in "spiritual or high sensitive people" I meet that seems to take off whenever life is boring, hard or threatening. I think that can be an emergency exit when life is challengeing or hard and short term I guess that is okay. But in long term I think it is unhealthy for the person. The body will be physically unbalanced and weaker and with that follow more tendency to unstable mind and emotion. Which in long term makes one have a hard time to be a balanced person but in earthly means and in terms of having a harmonious connection to the divine.

I even think this is the reason why so many artists and musicians complain they have all these depressions and periods in their life the feel like living in a black hole - because I guess when they work, play, perform, write music they are in flow with their creativity, but then they keep on exisiting in that ungrounded state - disconnected to the earth - all the time and in the long term I think that is the reason they become emotional (and probably physical) unstable.

So yes, I do believe "connect to earth first". Even if I understand that many people struggle with this (especially those who in a conscious or subconoscious way feel there is another place existin far away and far different from the vibration of this earth). But I guess it is all a choice and I guess it was a little easier back in the days when you had to be out in the fields or woods everyday just in order to survive ;)
