Obstacles - rough edges that enable us to climb towards the light
You want life to be smooth and pleasant, without problems or unhappiness. But why don’t you ask yourself about the underlying meaning of the obstacles that exist in nature and in life instead? If the path up a high mountain were smooth, you would never be able to climb to the top in order to breathe the pure air and admire the beautiful view, because you would have nothing to cling to. You would keep sliding down to the bottom of the precipice. This is what happens to those whose life is too easy, too comfortable: they lose their grip on life – as well as on their fortune, their health, even their sanity. Since you are climbing up the slopes of a spiritual mountain, do not ask that they be smooth. Be grateful for the rough edges, for it is they that give you a handhold and enable you to keep advancing towards the light.Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov was a Bulgarian philosopher, pedagogue, mystic, and esotericist.
